Time To Upgrade From Windows XP to… Drumroll Please…
When Windows Vista came out we encouraged people to stick with Windows XP 
rather than upgrade to Vista. We continued to build our computers with Windows XP on them as Microsoft continued to sell it. It was odd because each “end of life” date for Windows XP being sold on the shelves kept getting extended. It was obvious that Microsoft realized how bad their Vista was. At the time, we dubbed it “Windows Millennium 2.0″ because if you can remember, Windows ME was also a horrible operating system. They went from Windows 98, which was great at the time, to a bomb in Windows ME.

You may have noticed that Facebook has been rolling out its new timeline feature. There are definitely mixed reviews. My own opinion is that the new “cover photo” option required on the timeline is great! It ends up looking more like your typical website with a header on the top and all of the content below. If you aren’t familiar with “Android” then it is likely you do not have a smartphone or a tablet…yet! Android is the popular alternative to the iPhone and is owned by Google. In the computer world you basically have three players: Microsoft Windows, Apple Mac OS, and Linux. It is very similar in the mobile world. Soon Windows will be unveiling its new Operating System that will span across all types of devices. Microsoft owns Windows and Apple owns the Mac OS. I intended this article to be a “Top 10″ list but it changed into a “Top 20″ with 3 honorable mentions (not counting the social networking apps that I list but don’t count.) It really is hard to narrow this list down because I have a lot of great apps that I’ve found for both my android phone and my android tablet. To start off let me list some free social networking apps that everyone should have and thus I will not include in this list.

If you are like me, you use your smartphone to do everything. This also includes taking photos of just about everything including my kids! But did you know that by doing this, you are putting yourself and possibly your kids at risk? I see Google+ as a different beast than Facebook. I see G+ as something that will allow groups of people with similar interests to connect to each other. Circles is a new creation by Google that you’ll probably start seeing creep up in other areas such as android phones and I’ve already seen it a little on GMail which are Google’s mobile operating system and Google’s popular email program. Circles allow you to put people in different categories or groups and post messages that only those groups can see.
