About RTA
About RTA:
RTA is owned and operated by me…John Heida. I started the Right Thinking American sometime in the late 90′s when blogging wasn’t cool yet. The site stayed up for many years and had a lot of great information on it including guest writers. I took the site down for lack of time and various other reasons. I’ve decided that due to the current political times, it’s a great time to bring it back to use it to help further the cause of freedom and liberty as best as one blog could.
About me:
I consider myself a patriot! I am a Christian first. My belief in Jesus Christ…and His sacrifice on the cross for my sins directs my beliefs both inside and outside of religion. If I give you my word then you can bet there is no contract that is a better bond than that.
I am a husband and father second. I have a wonderful wife that fortunately said “yes” to me when I asked her to marry me in 2001. I also am a proud father of the best boy ever! So far in life I have found nothing more rewarding than being his dad!
I am a conservative third. Like I said, my belief in Jesus Christ and His teachings lead me in the path of conservatism. I believe as individuals, we need to help others. I believe that Christ commands us: “Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.” This is a command to us as individuals not as governments. It’s sad when good people get this wrong.
I am a business owner fourth. Once again, my Christianity guides me in running my business. I am definitely not perfect, but I will always try to treat my customers with the utmost respect and will try my best to be honest to each and every one of them.
I am a registered Republican last. I do, however, feel that a lot of aspect to the Republican party has left me. It’s not the other way around. I have not turned “more conservative.” They seem to embrace anyone who labels themselves as Republicans as long as they can get elected…even if that means the deterioration of the party because of that person getting elected. We need to change that.
